Anxious faces everywhere,
Being as dramatic as we dare,
Hopes are rising for the part,
But really the play we want to start.
Results are complete, everyone waits,
With eyes as round as saucers and plates,
Who got the part? Now we all know’
Onto the stage, up we all go.
Now the rehearsals have begun,
We are having so much fun,
Disappointment fades away,
A new prop comes every day.
Now the stage, it is in place,
A happy smile on everyone’s face,
They’re begging us to learn our lines,
They say we don’t have much more time.
Costumes now have appeared,
Some we’re finding very weird,
Now only about 2 weeks left,
Everyone seems very stressed.
Performance week: here it is!
Now everyone gets in a tiz,
Mums and dads watching proud,
Voices ring out clear and loud.
Now the play comes to a close,
We have to take off our fancy clothes,
Please don’t make us stop: Oh no!
SHAKE, RIPPLE AND ROLL: we enjoyed it so!!!

Shake, Ripple and Roll,
Was chosen as our play,
And auditions were already,
Coming our way.
We watched each other acting,
Rooting for the parts,
We all knew who we wanted to be,
Right down in our hearts.
We found out who we were,
Excited through our skin,
We were all so hyper,
We couldn’t wait to begin.
We rehearsed it many times,
(Always with our script!),
But then we learnt our words,
Very, very quick.
During Half Term,
The stage was moved,
Once we came back,
We were all ready to groove!
The mums brought the costumes,
Hand made were some,
We got to put them on,
It was so much fun.
Next came make-up,
It was definitely the best,
We all got to put some on,
After we were dressed.
Lights came last,
Then came the shows,
And then everything was go, go, go!!!

In the Spring term we auditioned for our play,
And we couldn’t wait for the day
When we would know what part we got,
Everyone had nerves – a lot!
We got our parts
And we were going to start
We couldn’t wait for the day
When we would perform our play!
We got our costumes,
And learned our tunes.
So many dances to be learnt
The wills of Angelo had been burnt!
The play was just about to start
And we were already in our parts.
Now it’s all over, the crowds are cheering loud,
And Mrs Hodgkiss is oh so proud.

It’s the 1950s, let’s Shake, Ripple and Roll,
It’s time for the Lower III musical,
Angelo’s Ice Cream parlour’s the main attraction,
Where Chuck and his gang hang out for action.
At Angelo’s a boy works for Mr.C,
They nickname him - Joey Nobody.
He’s lost his memory, but his biggest dream
Is to invent a super new flavour of ice cream.
But Angelo dies and Mr.C is surprised
When Deanna La Domme, the movie star arrives.
She says Angelo was her uncle, “So this all belongs to me.
In one week’s time, I’ll be back for the key!”
They can’t find a will to prove that she’s lying
So they hire a private detective to do some spying.
Just in time, the will’s found in the juke box
It all ends happily
