Dance Club
|
I go to dance club because it’s fun to learn dances and make up routines. I like to dance with my friends and wear brightly coloured leotards and jazz suits. Dance club lasts half an hour on Tuesday lunchtimes but it only seems like one minute because we are enjoying ourselves so much. On the first day of Dance Club all I could say was, “Wow…. Wow….WOW!” Jumping to music and dancing around is definitely wow. The girls from the Senior School who run Dance Club are just magic at dancing and are very patient if we can’t do something and we go over the dances until we know them backwards. I just think this Dance Club rocks.

Country Dancing and Maypole Dancing
|
I go to Country Dancing because I like dancing to music and being able to dance with my friends. It is run my Mrs MacVean. We dance to fast, slow or bouncy music. Once we know the dances really well our parents are invited to dance with us. The best bit about this that they might make funny mistakes. Country Dancing club lasts for the autumn and spring terms and then in the summer term there is Maypole Dancing to learn. I went to Maypole Dancing because I had never done maypole dancing before. I liked all the dances. We danced round the maypole in front of the Senior School. It was scary. Both clubs are great.

I love going to ballet because Miss Lorna, the teacher, teaches us to pirouette and dance properly. It is great fun and she is very funny. I can nearly go on my toes. It is hard work but I find I can do most if what I'm taught. I like the warm up best.

Jazz
|
I go to Jazz because it is great fun and we get to wear our own favourite multicoloured leotard. We get to make up great dances and have competitions. I won three times ! The teachers are really nice. We learn lots of new steps. I like the boxstep. Some girls got to be in a show and I watched a video of them and it looked really good. I love going to Jazz after school on Friday.
