Paddington Bear's Birthday - the girls all brought their bears into school to help raise money for Action Research.
Last Friday saw our school population increase by at least 200 pupils when numerous teddies came to school. This was in aid of the charity ‘Action Medical Research’. Each bear paid £1 for his or her education and many had tales to tell via their owners. The highlight of the day was when Michael Bond’s daughter, Karen Jankel came to speak in assembly. Michael Bond is of course the author of the Paddington Bear stories and Karen gave us a very interesting background as to how the stories came to be written.

PS We have received a lovely letter from Action Medical Research thanking us for the princely sum of £263.30 that was donated via the Paddington Bear collecting box.
