Also, we feature contributions from a new contributor, the British School Of Brussels. We welcome these students and their teacher, Michael MacGowan. Our thanks go out also to Galina Jechropova, the Lithuanian teacher whose students were responsible for the content in last month's issue. |

Smarty our School Bear in Paris with the Eiffel Tower behind him!
|
Paris is the capital of France. In France you could live near the sea or in the countryside. We went to Paris for the day by coach, with lots of our school friends and parents.
In Paris there is a special tall metal building called the Eiffel Tower. All of the other buildings are different to ours, I think that is amazing, because if they weren't different then people might think that they were boring and people won't want to go there for holidays there anymore.
I saw loads of things like the Eiffel Tower, restuarants with tables outside, and the beautiful sea. I heard French people talking but I didn't understand most of it. It felt so different to England and quite weird. I did all sorts of things all day.It was so beautiful and lots of fun. More >

Finnish Scenery at Summer
|
Finland is the name of my country and I live in Kirkkonummi. It is really close to the Finnish Sugar Factory and has a forest near it. Most of Finland is covered in Forest land. It is a very natural country and is very different to Belgium. In winter time it is much colder and has only got a population of 5 million as Belgium has 10,2 million. Helsinki is the capital of Finland but there are quiet a few other larger cities like Turku or Tampere. The others ones are small so thgey are not that popular but Oulu is pretty popular. Oulu is in the north, Helsinki in the south, Turku South west and Tampere sort of in the middle of the south and west. More >

Singapore's Businesses Are Lit-Up at Night
|
Singapore is a tiny island off the south tip of Malaysia. Malaysia and Singapore are connected by a causeway crossing the distance over the ocean.
It is in South East Asia and is a 7 hours flight away from Australia. It has areas of land which have been man-made, for example, part of the Changi Airport is built on man-made land.
There is a primary rainforest still left which is Bukit Timah Park which is on a hill and has wild monkeys and snakes still living there.
Most people live in condominiums or apartments, but the odd people that do live in houses often have big houses with pools. One of my friends had a house, but they got frequent snake encounters such as pythons (not too harmful but massive). More >

The famous Parliament Buildings in Victoria, BC are lit at night.
|
I live in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. BC is the most western province of Canada. Victoria is the capital city of BC. Victoria is on Vancouver Island which is the most southern part of BC.
The first thing I like about Canada is our freedom. If we didn't have the freedom we have now we would be a totally different country. More >
