I'm New Here by Danie Age 13 from Canada
Friends in Australia that I'll never forget!
Friends in Australia that I'll never forget!
I never thought that I'd miss my home. But I do. I miss the sound of the cars in the street at night, I miss the streetlights and neon signs, and I miss the energy of the city.
It seems that the stillness is so loud that I can't sleep at night.

The countryside is nice enough, I guess, with its lush green trees that are first-rate for climbing, its verdant hills that are great for rolling down, and the streams are cool to ease your tired feet. And the beaches are so awesome.

The problem is this: I just can't understand what the Australian children are saying. I've taken English at school, but not enough to prepare me for this. The other children speak too fast, and they use words I've never heard of.

Here's an example. Just last week I was trying to communicate to my teacher when some kids burst out laughing over a piece of artwork. One kid yelled out 'That is so munted!' I had no clue what he meant. Another time, a girl called out 'Wicked' when the teacher told us about a field trip we were going to go on. Another kid talked about her 'rashes' she was going to put on at the beach. I mean how do you put on a rash? More
Life is an Adventure by Joel Age 10 from Canada
Snowboarding in Snowy Canada! is GREAT!
Snowboarding in Snowy Canada! is GREAT!
My life has been pretty exciting so far. I have travelled to places all over the world and have lots of great memories.

I was born in White Rock, B.C. That's in Western Canada if you don't know. We lived there until I was 4 years old when we moved to Folkestone, Kent in England with my two older sisters and my mom and dad. It was my first year in school and it was odd to have to put on a tie each morning (luckily mine was on an elastic band so I didn't have as much trouble as my sisters). I don't remember too much but what I do remember is going to all the castles, taking the train in to London, trips to France, wearing plimsols for sport, and going to Lathe Barn on a fieldtrip. My mom says I even picked up an English accent during the year. More
A Day in My Life by Mateusz Smoleski (III LO, Elblag, Poland)
Helsinki Finland
Helsinki Finland
I remember very well the first day of my visit to Finland. It was a long time ago, on the holiday after which I was to go to the fourth class. We went there by train. It was my first trip through the Soviet Union's territory and the first trip to the foreign country. I remember very well that in the train, there was a samovar and we could get some tea and lemon free.

I couldn't wait to see Finland. I thought it would look much different from Poland and I wasn't disappointed. When we arrived at the station it was as if we entered a different world. Anyway it was like that for me. I was very much surprised to see a road covered with what we have our sidewalks made of. Even for myself it seems strange now, but then I really felt that way. As we were walking to the place where my father had made an appointment with the people at whose place we were to stay, I saw the beautiful part of Helsinki. The whole city was unbelievably clean, the houses were painted beautifully. It was extremely different from the grey streets of Elblag. More

A Prehistoric Temple by James (9)
My most memorable journey was when my Mum, my Dad, my little brother Christopher and I went to Devon on Holiday. It was a very long, tiring journey. When we were about half way there we saw Stonehenge. It looked so interesting that we decided to stop and take a look...We stayed at Paignton...we went on a steam train (to learn more about the steam train click on its picture. Beautiful Belcoo, Ireland by Cez (14)
A Cottage at Belcoo
A Cottage at Belcoo
I live in the outskirts of a very pretty village called Belcoo. It has the most beautiful views, with Cuilcagh Mountain and Belmore mountain. There is also a lake called Lough Mac Nean. On a clear day, standing beside the lake, you can see past Cuilcagh Mountain, to County Sligo, two Counties away.

Belcoo is a very quiet village with very friendly residents. I spoke to an elderly resident of Belcoo, who has lived in the area all her life. She described Belcoo as a picturesque countryside with mountains, lakes and valleys.

There are remains of two old Churches, these are Temple Rushin, which dates back to 9th-13th century,[the exact date is unknown], ST. Patrick's Church, Holywell is attached to this; and Templenaffrin which actually means ''Church of the Mass.''

In early Christian times Raths and Cashels were farmsteads, this is during the Plantations in Ireland. There are two Bullan Stones at Holywell, this is where the Penitential Stations are made bare-foot, in July.(click on the picture of the cottage to find out about Bellcoo Boxty and how to make it...ed) More
