My mum and her families Christmas in Germany. Every year was a white Christmas, and my mum and her two brothers would play outside in the snow. While their mum was cooking dinner, my mum would go skiing, sledging, snowball fights and then build a snowman.
They would always have a tree and make their own decorations and decorate the tree together. For dinner they would have roast chicken, potatoes and after if anyone was hungry they would have Christmas pudding and mince pies. (More)

Indian Dancers and Storytellers by Christopher Marsh (10)
We all sat down on the carpet in the library. The show started off with a story of the Princess Parvati and Lord Shiva and their unusual elephant headed son.
The Emperor was looking for a husband for his daughter. He organised a party and he invited all the best men, and hoped that the Princess would find a husband. But she didn't find a husband and so she said to her father, "Father I don't like any of these men!" So her father said, "But these are my best men." (More)

My Childhood in Poland" by Victoria Szebesta (9)
Josef Tadeusz Szebesta recalls, “The best thing about my childhood was the winter sports as I lived about 100 miles away from the Tatra mountains with my older brother and older sister. We used to go to the mountains to do a lot of skiing. Unfortunately, when I was thirteen years of age, war broke out and I had to leave my family and spend the rest of my life abroad.
I did miss the winter sports and also the snow. At the age of four I was learning to swim, not in the swimming pool but in the lake. I got into difficulty and I do remember my brother pulling me from the water.” (More)

Siu Mei by Chi-Chung (10)
