Aims & Objectives of the Friends of Malsis
The Friends of Malsis is a group of people who share one common aim: to support Malsis School in as many ways as possible. To facilitate this happening, a committee of the Friends of Malsis has been set up to be the main catalyst for this support. Although the Governing Body of Malsis has the most important role in overseeing the physical, social and intellectual education of the children and also the financial security of the school, the Friends of Malsis has clear objectives.

1. To be an additional source of advice and an extra sounding board for: social and spiritual values in the school; the whole environment of Malsis including the discovery of any talent and development of that talent, the physical fitness and companionship through sport, the excellence of teaching both in and out of class.

2. To promote Malsis in both Yorkshire and the North of England as a school offering the very best in private preparatory and pre-prep education.

3. To be the main driving force for both fund-raising and social events held at the school.

4. To be a real friend to the school, which might include passing on both positive and negative reaction; to reinforce the school’s position at all times, but to make clear that we are a listening school, prepared to improve and adapt.

5. To be prepared to raise and discuss any ideas which might result in a better education for the children at Malsis.

It should be noted that the Friends of Malsis at no stage supplants the role of the Governing Body, the Headmaster and his wife, the Deputy Headmasters or the teaching staff of the school; rather, the Friends of Malsis should complement the work of the above, ensuring that neither the individual child nor any individual area of education is overlooked.
Friends of Malsis Committee
The first meeting of the committee of the Friends of Malsis was held at Malsis on Monday 18th March 2002. The committee contained representatives of the present parent body, the Old Boys and Old Girls’ Association, the teaching staff, previous parents of the school and the Governing Body; it is intended that these areas of the Malsis community will always be represented.
