S
San Juan (2-4 Players; 45-60 Minutes) £14.99
Puerto Rico is quite simply one of the best boardgames ever; this card game version has a lot of the elements that made Puerto Rico great (changeing governorship, player roles and building) without any of the fiddly colonists. Highly recommended. 9/10

Say What! (2-20 Players; 90-120 Minutes) £7.99
A bit of a departure from the Zombie mistress Kerry Breitenstein, Say What! is a lively card game designed to play while watching TV or even while playing a different game entirely (if playing one game at a time isn't enough for you). Lowest points total in hand at the end of the game wins. 7/10
Scarab Lords (2 Players; 10 Minutes) £14.99
Another Egyptian themed game from master gamesmith Reiner Knizia; as rival Scarab Lords you must marshall your forces in the spheres of Religion, Military and Economics to cast down your opponent and rule the Age of the Locust. 7/10

Settlers of Catan the Card Game (2 Players; 90 Minutes) £14.99
Settlers of Catan the Card Game Expansion £14.99
If you're looking for a long two player cardgame and you love Settlers of Catan, this game has your name on it. The Settlers cardgame started the trend for card variant versions of popular boardgames, and the expansion adds a further five variants into the mix (including one with wizards and dragons). 8/10 if you're looking for a cardgame with a longer play time.

Sleuth (3-7 Players; 60 Minutes) £11.99
The classic Sid Sackson game of deduction. One card is removed from the deck, and the players must discover which it is by playing Search cards. Out of print for two decades, Face 2 Face are making good on their promise to re-release the entire Sackson back catalogue. 8/10.

Space Beans (2-6 Players; 30 Minutes) £7.99
It's Bohnanza in space, so if you ever fancied exploring the final front bean on a thirty minute mission to boldly go where no bean trading game has gone before, Uwe Rosenberg and his bizarre bean fetish have got you covered. Seriously though, we like beans as much as the next person (unless of course that person is Uwe Rosenberg), but enough with the beans already! 6/10

Spank the Monkey (2-6 Players; 30 Minutes) £14.99
Pile up junk to reach the monkey, then spank it. Humourous cardgame that's perfect for beer and pretzel play. Or should those be monkey nuts? It Gigantoskop don't follow this up with one entitled Bash the Bishop though, I'll be extremely dissappointed. 6/10

Spooks (3-6 Players; 10 Minutes) £7.99
Run away! No cult BBC spies here - just monsters. You don't have to outrun the legions of ghoulies and ghastlies - just your friends - in this hand emptying game from Steve Jackson Games. Each suit has a special rule; can you escape the haunted house? 6/10
Star Fleet Battles Force Card Game (2 Players; 90 Minutes) £18.99
It's Star Fleet Battles in card game format, which pretty much means it's the Star Trek non-collectible cardgame. Ships are equipped with various weapons, which can be fired by playing the equivalent card. Not exactly a fast game, but heck - it's Trek. 6/10

Star Munchkin (2-6 Players; 60 Minutes) £14.99
Star Munchkin 2: The Clown Wars (2-6 Players; 60 Minutes) £11.99
Munch... Kins... In... Space... C'mon - you know the Munchkin drill by now - kill monsters (aliens), steal their treasure (credits) and level up. And with the Clown Wars expansion, may the farce be with you a second time. 6/10
T
Terra (3-6 Players; 30 Minutes) £14.99
Only you can save the planet in this ecological minded cardgame from Bruno Faidutti and UNESCO. Hey, wait... where are you going? The green theme and co-operative play might not appeal to the average cut throat spielefreak, but it makes it perfect for eco conscious kids. 6/10

Theophrastus (2-5 Players; 30 Minutes) £19.99
If you've got a notion to mix up a potion, then Theophrastus is looking for a worthy apprentice in this card game of all things alchemical from Mayfair games. With all their German boardgame translations it's easy to forget Mayfair cut their teeth producing their own range of boardgames like the 18XX train series; Theophrastus makes a welcome return to their original game publishing roots. 6/10

Top Trumps.

Torches & Pitchforks (2-5 Players; 30 Minutes) £19.99
The first card game from RPG publishers Green Ronin has players equipping an angry mob to defend their town from rampaging B-Movie monsters. In the same vein as Munchkin or Grave robbers, this is quick to pick up and fun for casual play. 5/10
