Vampire: The Eternal Struggle

Gehenna

Black Hands

Anarchs

Camarilla Edition

Originally published by WoTC back in the halycon CCG boom of '94, Vampire is the game that stubbornly refuses to lie down in its card coffin and play dead. That's because of its top notch multiplayer play; here's one game that excels when a pack of your blood buddies descend on your crypt looking for a game to play.

Mechanics: Players play warring Methuselahs (some of the oldest vampires around) as they manipulate thier loyal undead minions to disrupt each others power bases. For kicks. Influence counters keep track of how much prestige your gramp vamp has to play with.

How You Win: Reduce your opponent to 0 Influence and they're sent packing back to their crypt, nursing their wounds and plotting vengeance. In multiplayer, this earns you victory points. But often a live ally is better than a dead victory point, so expect much diplomacy as things get nasty...

Deck Archetypes: There's plenty of variety, as Vampires get to indulge in everything from diablerie to vote rigging. More than any other CCG, the range of action and interaction between Vampire players really calls for deck balance over specialisation.

Organised Play: Expect the usual mix of pre-releases and weekend tournaments to crop up for Vampire. With over 300 UK based players, it'd be good if they finally had a regular haunt.

Website: Since 2000, Vampire has been back where it belongs - at White Wolf. For more on the UK based Vampire scene, try the Elder Kindred Network UK site.
