Lord of the Rings (Decipher)
The maps are great, and there's no denying Christian Moore and his team have a deep routed love of all things Middle Earth, but there's a definite sense that here was a game who desperately wanted to be d20 but couldn't be for political reasons. Decipher may have now canned the line (together with their entire RPG studio), but simply for film related source material these books are hard to beat.

Fan Boy Three Scurrulous Rumour Department: A little Hobbit tells me that we shouldn't have to wait too long for another RPG incarnation. Hmmm. Now who do we know with a Lord of the Rings licence, bottomless piles of cash and a sudden desire to get back into the RPG business..?
