CHIPS Launch

Don't Dip Your Chips in Your Drink, Kate was officially launched at Sheffield Central Children's Library on Thursday 22 October.
Children from Watercliffe Meadow School in Sheffield came along and we had a great time listening to stories, making up rhymes, creating a fantastic cake collage and, best of all, eating some amazing and delicious fairy cakes!
The wonderful guys at Orchard Books brought a giant colour picture from the book. But.... oh dear! Someone had stolen all the cakes! So we created our own and stuck them on the picture. It looked fantastic!

We used my newly invented Big Green Rhyme Machine to make up silly rhymes about food:
|

Jake, Jake baked a cake
Jelly, jelly in your wellie, eat it while you're watching telly
Bread, bread, crumbs in your bed
|
|

"Exalent, super," Dale
"Exellent!" Jack

There are lots of yummy cakes in the book, so we brought some along for everyone to enjoy!

We decorated cut out fairy cakes using pens and sparkes and ribbons
|

|

We stuck them onto a big picture from the book
|
|
|
|
|
|
All the cakes were so brilliant, so it was hard to choose the best one. Zakirya won a t-shirt for his beautiful cake!

|

|
Then we all had a real cake to eat!
|
|
|

We wrote on the board what we thought of the day

The Display will be staying at Sheffield Central Children's Library for a while, so if you'd like to see it, or even add a cake of your own, go and visit the library!
