"Summertime....and the weather is rainy"

Lots of work has taken place around school over the Easter break...new shelters to provide some shade (if we ever get some sunshine), additions to the Ecogarden of a story-telling circle and new fruit trees, and, some finishing off of the main building work.

I hope that the shades will be well used as seating (remember they are not climbing frames!) and will provide somewhere to sit in either the sun or rain for those of you who want to keep out of the bustle of the playground and fields. I hope also that they will be used to take learning outside, so that classes can use them as outside classrooms.

Also, as the weather gets better I hope more classes will use the Ecogarden either for learning about minbeasts and the environment, or as a place to do circletime or P4C.

The one aspect that's not quite completed yet is the Courtmaster Games Court beside the Upper School playground. I know everyone has been very excited about it since the foundations were dug in, and now, at last, the framework is going up. Once the tarmac is laid and it is all marked up then we will be able to use it, during lessons and break and lunchtimes. It will provide us with all-weather opportunities for sports, away from the main playgrounds, which is a real bonus to our sports and PE curriculum and our play facilities.

Despite the current rain I'm sure we'll have some sunny days to enjoy before the end of term!
