Welcome to Acklam Whin's school gallery. On these pages you will be able to view some of the fantastic art work that is being created around the school.
Art Club
Art club's amazing frieze, inspired by the famous artist Hokusai, is on display in the key stage 2 area and causing quite a stir! The children used the image of 'The Great Wave', (which is the name of Housai's painting) and divided it up into grids. Then with great patience and talent they painted their own section. The different sections were fitted together like a giant puzzle. Not an easy task i can tell you!
Year 6
Year 6 have gone pop art mad! While studying the famous Andy Warhol, who was well known in the 60's for his fantastic prints of people and every day objects.They decided to take it to the next level using ICT. Warhol would have been impressed!
Year 3
The children in Year 3 are working on their drawing skills. They will be experimenting with lots of different pencils and drawing tools to create interesting lines and tones. Watch this space for examples!
Year 4
In Year 4 the children are also going to be looking at line, but they will be adding colour and texture with special crayons called conti crayons. Look out for some colourful work based on a rainforest theme. It will be beautiful!
Year 5
Whats in a name asks year 5! Well a lot by these colourful works of art.They used the letters from their names to create illustrations against colourful blocks ofcolour. Now thats word art!
Reception
Bears, bears and even more bears! As you can tell by the fantastic display in lower school, reception have gone bear mad and its all because they are learning all about bears in books.Their favourite book is called 'Freddys found the bears'.
