Successful Learners

We worked together on a placemat activity to think about how to be Successful Learners in P4. We agreed that the following things were important; good listening, good manners, hard work and being prepared.

Titanic - The Unsinkable Ship

The Titanic sank on April 15th 1912. This year is the 100th Anniversary. We have been learning all about why she was such a special ship and why she sank. We have been learning about the lives of the passengers and about how safety on board ships has changed. We enjoyed a trip to the Denny Tank, a Scottish Maritime Museum in Dumbarton.
We held a Titanic Exhibition for our parents and some of our work was displayed in the special exhibition at the Harper Memorial Church in Glasgow.

International Week - October 2011

During International Week some parents visited our class to tell us about Arabic and malaria. We also took part in International Athletics. In class we made flags and learned how to say hello in different languages.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl

Working together to create large characters. Working together to create large characters. We are really enjoying our "Chocolate Factory" topic. We have written newspaper reports and character profiles in Literacy. We have created lots of scenes from the factory in Art and Design and we are working on scripts in Drama. We still have a lot more work to do!
