'King' a Cathderal Opera and the Story of Thomas a Becket
|
This project started in 2004, with the Poet Philip Wells, coming to work in 3 Kent schools.
Whitstable Junior School, St Anthony's Margate and St Mary's CE in Folkestone.
They were all inspired by the poet and their visits to the Canterbury Cathedral and the project grew, as the Children are the Future.
Working with the composer Stephen Barlow and supported by Creative Partnerships the children have worked with Philip Wells, Sirishkumar the tabla player, and are part of the cast in this World Premiere of the 'King' with many of the children's words being used by the international cast in the opera.
