|
Children from Capel Le Ferne Primary School in Kent, planting their trees.
In late November 2005, these Year 6 pupils spent a cold but enjoyable day, planting several dozen young trees, in the nearby conservation area of Lyminge Forest. Part of their project involved the planting of new hedging, as can be seen from the straight lines in the photos.

Pupils from St Mary's CEP in Folkestone, planting their trees at the end of November 2005.
International flags, representing the countries that each class is linked with, mascots sent from link schools and balloons, accompanied the planting of trees at St Mary's.
National Poet 'Philip Wells' along with Y6 pupils recited the specially written poem for the occasion. The owner of Macfarlane's nursery, that kindly donated the 3, native, Silver Birch Trees gave helpful hints to the children during the planting.
