'Pupils Thoughts and Art work about Trees'
|
This part of a billboard about 'Growth' was created by pupils in Year 6 working with Creative Partnerships. They decided to take pictures of trees, as they grow like children then see how they could turn them in a piece of art. They used a digital camera and then Adobe Photoshop to create their final design.
Read through these published, online articles below, to find out what else young people think about trees and their importance to mankind.

This is my picture of a Weeping Willow

Trees play a vital part in our lives, they provide us with oxygen through the proccess of photosynthesis. Humans have the complete opposite breathing pattern to trees. As they breath in carbon dioxide and breath out oxygen we breath in the oxygen and breath out carbon dioxide.
In the Phillipines a staggering 95% of their rain forests have been slaughtered...More

'Man needs Trees' by Emily S age 11
|
I think it is important to have trees because if we did not have trees we would not be able to breathe. I think every time we cut down a tree we should plant another one! Later on, if we carry on like this we will have hardly any oxygen!
In our school we have planted three Silver Birch trees. This is because we are trying to get 2012 schools throughout the world to plant some trees all in aid of the 2012 Olympics and for the sustainability of our world.

'Trees' by Jason age 11

Trees give us oxygen and they breath out carbon dioxide and we have planted 3 Silver Birch trees in our school grounds. Jacob S dug and watered the trees and looked after them.
Trees have to be looked after so they can stay alive and be cared for.
Phillip Wells organised the'Spirit of the Trees' poem for Year 6 to recite at the Tree Planting Ceremony and in assembly.
We are wanting 2012 schools from around the world to be planting trees for every person in each school.
The Phillippines have already started to plant their rain forest trees.

'Beautiful Trees' by Christopher age 10

Our school have planted 3 silver birch trees in our school field.
Our link school in the Philippines has planted a tree for every one in our class, that is 32 trees. They are trying to replant lots of the trees that have been cut down, so that rice can be grown. As there are not so many trees in the philippines it is causing mudslides to happen when it rains.

'Trees! 2012 School Around the World are Planting Trees' by Ben W age 11
|
In the Philippines (in Illigan City) a school will plant a tree for everyone in our class for the 2012 project-so that is over 30 trees-
The tree will be named after each one of us and 32 students in the school in the Philippines will all have one of our trees to look after.
They have agreed to do this because 95% of all Filpino trees are being cut down without trees we wouldn't be able to live. Trees take our Carbon Monoxide and give us pure oxygen!
