How we work
Psychological services are regulated by various acts and different pieces of legislation. We work mainly within The Children (Scotland) Act 1995 and Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2004. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child also governs much of our work.

All information we have is stored and used in line with the Data Protection Act (1998).

All research and assessments are carried out with reference to the ethical guidelines and code of conduct of the British Psychological Society.

The service has also produced many of its own documents and policies.

We try to reach and maintain the high standards expected by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of education (HMIe).
