REPORTING TO PARENTS

Hallside Primary recognises that good teamwork among parents, children and schools is the key to a successful education for your child.

We will provide parents with reports so that you can see what your child is doing and how they are progressing. In addition, there will be parents’ meetings which offer you the opportunity to discuss how your child is doing in school and you can contact the school at anytime with any matter that you may wish to raise.

Our style of ‘pupil reports’ will help you to get to know more about the 5-14 curriculum which each child follows and describes what has been taught and areas where you can help.

We welcome any comments or additional information from parents to help us provide the best possible education for your child.

INFORMATION FOR PARENTS

The partnership between parents and teachers is very important. The school wishes to be part of the community and it always welcomes contributions the local community makes through showing interest and involvement.

Children spend many of their growing years in school, encounter new and difficult ideas, are shocked, surprised, delighted or saddened by what they learn. Parents own experience of parenthood can be enriched if they share these experiences with their children as they grow up. Parents are therefore welcome to come to school, and many do so, not just to talk to the teachers, but to play an active part in the life of the classroom. Parents can make a valuable contribution to the school as librarians, working with the children in paired reading, helping with structured play, through fund raising for special equipment, and by accompanying classes on educational visits providing adult supervision in support of teaching staff.

The exchange of information at parents’ evenings is an important part of forging a partnership between home and school for the benefit of your child.
