We start school at 9am and P2 finish at 2.50pm while P3 finish at 3.20pm.
Our lunch break is from 12.10 - 1.10pm.
C.A.P.E.R. (Children and Parents Enjoy Reading) is on a Monday morning for P1, P2 and P3. This is when we can go to choose a book to read at home. We can change it every Monday as long as we bring the other book back. When we read 10 books we get a certificate.
Each class in the school have blocks of time where they may have P.E. Music or Art with Specialist Teachers. Mrs Foster takes P.E.on Wednesdays, Mrs Mailey takes Music on Tuesdays and Ms Harris takes Art on Thursday mornings. It will be written in the Home/School Diary when it is our turn for each subject. So there will be no excuse for forgetting shorts, art shirts etc. PE with Mrs Leslie is on a Monday morning.
On a Tuesday after school we have “Story Club”. This is especially for P1 and P2 classes. It starts at 2.50pm and finishes at 3.20pm. Miss Ransom along with Miss Brough, Mrs Glendinning and Mrs Park take turns to read us a story.
We get some homework in P2/3 and this is usually as follows:
Number - given on most Mondays and due back for Thursday. We also have to learn our number bonds to 20 so that we are good at these sums mentally. P3 have to learn their tables once they have covered them in class.
Phonics - given on most Tuesdays and due back for Friday when we will get a spelling test on our words.
Reading pages will be written in diaries.
From time to time we may be given a homework task connected with our topic.
