As we are in the upper school we are given responsibilities like helping out in the Nursery and monitoring cloakrooms at playtimes.
We get to spend a day orienteering in Mabie Forest. We come back filthy and tired but have had a great time.
In the summer term we are offered the opportunity to have lessons in Cycling Proficiency which we have to sit a written and practical test. If we pass both we receive a special certificate.
In June P6 hold a fete to raise funds for The Save The Children Fund. Primary One to Seven are invited to buy second hand books, toys and games as well as being able to sample delicious cakes. There are also plenty of games to play.
Being in P6 we are able to join most of the clubs offered by the school. We can join the Keep Fit Club, Pop Lacrosse Club, Scripture Union, Football and the Drama Club.
In June we also get introduced to our ”Buddy”. This is when we get paired with a Nursery pupil who is coming to P1 after the summer holidays. We have our photograph taken with them and they get the photo to take home. When they come into P1 and we are P7 we look after them in the playground and around the school.
Schemes used during Primary 6 will be-
New Scottish Heinemann and Teejay - Maths
Nelson, Primary Grammar & Punctuation, English Practice - Grammar and Spelling
