The Learning Centre is another teaching base within the school where children can work individually or within small groups. There is a high level of staffing within the Learning Centre to provide the support that pupils with mild to moderate learning difficulties need. There is a Principal Teacher (Support for Learning) and a number of Support for Learning Assistants. All pupils have strong links with their class teachers and classmates and are included in all activities in their class when appropriate.
The Learning Centre is well resourced with curricular materials and has a kitchen where cooking skills can be carried out. Life skills programmes in gardening, cooking and visiting the local community are in place to practise social communication and safety skills. Movement programmes for gross motor skills are carried out several times a week. There is a strong emphasis on Personal and Social Development, Enterprise and Citizenship.

The Learning Centre is a place of hard work both in terms of curriculum and personal development to ensure pupils are well rounded, productive individuals of the future and to ensure that potential is fulfilled.
