At Lochmaben we have a very enthusiastic School Association and the committee members work very hard fund-raising and organising social events for pupils. It is hoped that we shall be able to organise social events for parents in the future.
The Association provides support for a wide range of school activities both educational and social, and is a means by which parents can become more deeply involved in the life of the school.
It provides the opportunity for parents and staff to meet informally.
What kind of events ?
Marathon These are our two big fund-raising events
Christmas Bazaar of the year.
Parties
Carol Service/Concerts
Sports Day
Discos
What is the money spent on ?
Extra equipment for the school eg computer equipment, listening centres, lacrosse equipment, library books, reading resources, technology equipment.
Donations towards the cost of the school trips and parties.
Many, many other things
What can you do ?
Support all functions
Give help whenever possible
Suggest new ideas
Offer to serve on our committee
Come along to our Annual General Meeting (the date will be sent to you in a newsletter)
Since every child benefits from the work of the LSA please give it the support it deserves.
