Dumfries and Galloway Council Council
School Nutrition Action Group
S.N.A.G.
Lochmaben Primary has a School Nutritional Action Group (SNAG) made up of pupils and parents.
The group meets throughout the year and has responsibility for thinking about the food eaten in the school. We also talk about physical activity and the general well being of pupils.

The SNAG group will inform the rest of the school about anything they discuss at their meetings. Pupils can also go to them if they have any suggestions or comments to make for the SNAG group.

Munchy Monday.

This year we are going to continue with ‘Munchy Monday’.

Here are the rules:

1 - You can bring in fruit or vegetables to eat on ‘Munchy Monday’.

2. - You can eat these only at breaktime.

3 - You will put your name on either the yes or no side of the fruit chart in your class depending on if you have a had fruit or vegetables.

4 - We trust you to be honest but your SNAG member will do occasional spot checks to check whether you have fruit or vegetables.

5 - We will be competing in our houses, Grummel, Kirk, Mill and Castle.

6 - During the week one person from each class has to count up the numbers for each house and put it on this chart.

7 - Miss Graham will send a monitor round before Friday to collect the results. She will then count up the results and let us know at service. The house that has the most points every 4 weeks will get an extra 10 minute interval after service.

Fundraising
This year the SNAG group are producing a calendar to raise money for health days throughout the year. Each class is representing a different sport and will feature as one of the months of the year. Jenifer Alderson, a photographer from Lochmaben has taken the photos. Local companies have sponsored the calendar and their logo will also feature.
The calendars will be on sale at the Christmas Bazaar and the Christmas Concerts.
