St Vincent's Primary has a Homework Policy for pupils,
and a homework contract which parents sign. Homework is used
to raise attainment, practise work taught in class and to further
develop research skills. Parents of young children will often be
asked to hear reading or help to reinforce and practise new skills
recently learned. Parental approval gives great encouragement
to young readers. It also provides a link with home and school,
allows parents to experience the tasks being tackled by the
children and instils self discipline. We request your support to
ensure a high standard of work and would ask you to sign
homework on completion.

Before you begin your homework, think about:
* Where do you work best?
Is it in your room, at a desk, in the living room, on the floor?
* When is the best time for you to do your homework? Is it immediately
after school, tea, evening time, setting a target time?
* How you learn best? Is it in a place where there is no noise or with background
music?
