A Winter's Break In The Lake District

Each year we visit the Derwent Hill Outdoor Centre (probably the best in the country) near Keswick in Cumbria for a week of hard work and fun.

Our trips take place in January, but as you can see from the photographs that does not stop us from enjoying a full programme of activities. Recently we have added a summer weekend trip for Y6 children.

What makes Derwent Hill stand out is the staff, who are simply great. They make the week flash by, providing just the right amount of help and encouragement, which ensures that all of the children are challenged, but feel safe, which allows their true potential to shine through.

Each year the children have the opportunity to experience hill walking, gorge walking, climbing, orienteering, team building exercises - and so many other great activities that we don't have space to list them.
